                                altercation  n.   A noisy or angry dispute, a quarrel / ‘ion’ is n. ending, can use cantankerous and altercation together to reinforce suffix tells part of speech

                                analogy   n.   A comparison based upon two items having similarity in some respect / ‘ogy’ n. suffix ,  adj. analogous – similar to

                                articulate  adj.  Able to express oneself clearly or effectively / also is a v. articulate (‘ate’ is v. suffix)

                                austere   adj.   Stern and forbidding in appearance or manner; somber; grave / n. austerity

                                cantankerous   adj.  Ill-natured; quarrelsome  / can clue from ‘cranky’, sound alike   ‘ous’ adj. ending

                                melancholy   n.  A depression of spirits; a pensive or sad mood / adj.  also gloomy, sad

                                reconnaissance   n.  A preliminary survey to gain information / ‘ance’ is noun forming suffix

                                rectitude   n.  Righteousness, moral straightness  / root ‘rect’ means ruled, right, straight
